Uncovering The History of Cricket

Cricket is a very old sport according to tradition. Cricket as before dates back to at least the thirteenth century, and the game's roots can be traced to the south of England. It seems to have been popular with farming families in the southeast. A game that looks like this was also mentioned in the early thirteenth century, although it is not certain that it was cricket. However, the name cricket was first mentioned in the south of England in the late sixteenth century. It was at the school where the game was being played.

The exact name of "Cricket" is not known, but there are many possible sources for the name. A popular idea is that it is in French. The word can also be derived from the French word cricket, which means bat. Although there are Flemish and Old English contenders for the title. In fact, even the French word cricket is actually Flemish. So say it definitely. It is not possible to know where cricket came from, but it has been around since at least the end of the sixteenth century.

The game of cricket was first brought to India in the year 1600 by the East India Company. During the seventeenth century, the game became more and more popular in the south-east of England and was played by a large number of people at that time as there are numerous references to the game during the seventeenth century. It was played in a more formal way at the end of the century. It is even thought that there will be professional players at that time. It is certain that some of these games were played for large sums of money and gambled heavily on matches played in the seventeenth century. This is also when the number of players was set at eleven o'clock on each side. This is a time that was very important to the game as it really became the earliest prototype of the game that it is today, even though the bowling technique was not yet official.

There were more and more references to the game during the eighteenth century, and it was much more widespread at the time. There were numerous references to the game of this game and there were stories of sports being at great risk. It also became a very popular spectator game with a large number of spectators and the match was regularly arranged. Lord's Cricket Club in London was established in 1787 as the home of cricket. It is still one of the most important and traditional clubs in cricket. This is the home of the MCC which has the official rules of cricket.

Cricket became a game in the 19th century, with the advent of today's over arm bowling. This made the game much better because it was more accurate and made it even more interesting to watch. In the mid-19th century, the first overseas tour was to the United States, followed by a tour of Australia a few years later to the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

In 1864, the great cricketer WG Grace started playing cricket. He was to be more influential in the game than any other single person. He was a doctor and continued to practice when he was not playing sports. He played for over forty years. He scored 1,200 runs in 1902 when he was 34. He was a very domineering character and was known to argue with umpires when they did not like his decisions. In the middle of the twentieth century, the crowd got to see Australian Don Bradman, the greatest batsman ever to live. He was so good that the England team resorted to very straightforward tactics in the "Body Line Series", where he bowled on the man instead of the wicket in an attempt to defeat the Australian team. It was so controversial that it strained diplomatic relations between England and Australia until the outbreak of World War II.

The game changed in the sixties when matches were limited and the game was accessible to many people. This marked the beginning of the ODIs and the first ODIs were played in 1971. With the advent of T20 cricket in recent years, the game has become more accessible. This is where each team has a maximum of 20 overs and speeds up the game and it usually lasts no more than 3 hours. Even today, the game is getting better and better, and that's likely to continue.
